Certificates of Deposit

91-day, 182-day, 12-month, 15 month, 18-month, 30-month, 36-month and 48-month Certificates

  • Minimum deposit of $500.00 required at opening.
  • You must maintain a minimum balance of $500.00 in your account every day to obtain the annual percentage yield.
  • Interest on your 91-Day Certificate will be compounded at maturity and credited to the account. All other Certificate Interest will be compounded quarterly and credited to your account on the last day of each quarter.
  • Interest begins to accrue on the business day you deposit any non-cash item and accumulates on the account’s daily balance.
  • Interest rates may change at the discretion of Chester National Bank.

  • Deposits to or withdrawals from these accounts are not permitted until the maturity date.
  • These accounts renew automatically at maturity unless Chester National Bank redeems the certificate at maturity. Certificate holders have a grace period of ten (10) calendar days after the maturity date to withdraw the funds without being charged a penalty. Accrued interest during the grace period will not be paid if the account is closed.
Fees: Early Withdrawal Penalty--If you withdraw any principal before the maturity date:
A penalty equal to 90 days interest will be charged to the 91-day, 182-day, and 12-month certificates
A penalty equal to 180 days interest will be charged to the 15-month, 18-month, 30-month, 36-month and 48-month certificates



Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA)

  • Both Roth IRA and Traditional IRA accounts are available at Chester National Bank.
  • Minimum deposit of $100.00 is required at opening.
  • Interest on these accounts is compounded quarterly and credited to the account on the last day of each quarter. The certificate will earn the same rate until its maturity.
  • Interest begins to accrue on the business day you deposit any non-cash item and accumulates on the account’s daily balance.
  • Interest rates may change at the discretion of Chester National Bank.

  • Deposits may be made to the account of $10.00 or more.
  • Withdrawals may be made without penalty at maturity or if the depositor/account holder has reached the age of 59½. All other withdrawals will be subject to penalty charges.
  • These accounts renew automatically at maturity unless Chester National Bank redeems the certificate at maturity. Certificate holders have a grace period of ten (10) calendar days after the maturity date to withdraw the funds without being charged a penalty. Balance Computation Method

We use the daily balance method to calculate the interest on your account. This method applies a daily periodic rate to the principal in the account each day.

Fee Schedule

$50.00 Transfer fee will be assessed on all transfers out to another Financial Institution, Brokerage Firm, etc.

Early Withdrawal Penalty

If you withdraw any principal before the maturity date, a penalty equal to 90 days interest will be charged to your account if the account term is one year or less; or, a penalty equal to 180 days interest will be charged to your account if the account term is more than one year. These penalties will not apply if you have reached the age of 59 1/2.

Renewal Policy

This account will be automatically renewed, unless, at our option redeem the certificate at maturity. You have a grace period of ten (10) calendar days after the maturity date to withdraw the funds without being charged a penalty. However accrued interest during the grace period will not be paid if the account is closed.
